Teddy Bear Picnic

Fee: $40.00 includes the bear, design CD and a Teddy Bear picnic.
Embroider on the tummy of this adorable bear. He is 20" high, soft and so snuggly you won't want to let go. He is already complete you just pick your design, add a name or saying and embroider his tummy. You will take home a bear and CD with 5 designs. Don't have an embroidery machine? Use one of ours. When the bears are done we will join them in a picnic.

Cotton Theory

This is an introduction to Betty Cotton's patented "Quilt First, then Assemble" technique. As you quilt and assemble your project, Mo will be explaining cutting directions, stitch choices, needle and thread choices. You will learn the two most frequently used assembly techniques…and a Magic Triangle binding application you will use forever more! Each participant will leave with a completed project that is REVERSIBLE with each side of the project having a distinct theme. This technique can be used on all sizes of quilts.

Pajama Party-My Label Pattern Software
Come see what it's all about. We will measure you for pj bottoms on the first night. We will print out your pattern for you. The second night you will sew together the pj's. This class will give you a chance to see how the software works.

Tunic-My Label Pattern Software
Did you make the pants and are now curious about a top? Or you just want to see how the software works. We will measure you for the tunic and burn the pattern to a CD for you to have copied. The second night we will help you qualify the fit and make the tunic.

Art Vs Tradition
Ready to expand your approach to making "artsy" wallhangings? No drawing, appliqué or traditional skills needed. Learning this technique will allow you to use templates or freehand cutting to design landscapes, flowers, birds, etc. or go totally abstract. Patterns will be provided for class, but there will also be plenty of time to discuss how to turn your own photos, or drawings into a one of a kind quilt. Check out the samples and gallery of photos in the store to get your creative juices flowing.

Mixed Media Madness

Note from Sharon

When I became a Bernina dealer 22 years ago, Bernina introduced its first computerized sewing machine, the 1130. My thought at the time was "What more could we possibly want?"

Fast forward to 2008 with sewing, embroidery and embellishment opportunities that boggle the mind. New technology has expanded creative options and opened up possibilities we only dreamed of years ago.

In August I will be in Switzerland at the Bernina Factory sewing on the new 830 Bernina. This machine was developed after years of asking the consumer "What would you like to see in a sewing machine?" Bernina went all out to design a machine beyond our wildest dreams.

So look for special events throughout the fall that will showcase the new machine. We will also have an emulator on CD that you can take home with you to play on until we get a machine in the store. If you would like an emulator let us know.

This doesn't mean that we are ignoring the consumer who wants a more basic machine. We have the full line of Bernina machines from basic for beginning sewers to the 830 for the consumer who wants it all.

If there is a class you would to see offered let us know. Gather some friends together and we will find a teacher.

The Bernina Center will close at 3:00 on December 24 and 31. We will be closed Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
