Because Bernina Center is more than a quilt store we have a wide variety of thread for sewing and embellishing.

ISACORD polyester thread is ideal for high speed embroidery machines. It is stronger than rayon and colorfast so it is suitable for more applications. We stock all 351 colors in 1000 meter spools. This thread works well for quilting and embellishment techniques, also.

YENMET metallic thread sews as well as polyester embroidery thread and better than other metallics. We stock iridescent white, 3 shades of metallic gold, 2 shades of silver, copper, red metallic and green metallic. We recommend using a Metafil needle when using metallic threads.

MONET is a fine wool/ acrylic blend that gives machine embroidery the look of crewel embroidery. Bermalana and Renaissance are similar thread brand that we also stock. These work well in the loopers a serger for a nice edging. We have several colors in these three brands along with 2 different embroidery cards that are designed to be used with this thread.

COTTON MACHINE EMBROIDERY THREAD gives a matt finish instead of a sheen for a country look to an embroidery design or appliqué. Most of our cotton embroidery thread is 30/2 ply. We have over 75 colors in stock.

METROSCENE is an all purpose polyester thread that is fine but strong. It is used for garment construction where strength is important, such as children's clothing or knits and fleece.

Presenia 50 weight 3 ply cotton thread for piecing and garment construction.

We also have Mettler 100 % mercerized cotton quilting thread (40/3).

YLI machine quilting thread is 100% mercerized cotton ( 40/3ply ). We have all 40 colors, 16 are solid; the rest are variegated.

SUPERIOR threads has a new 20 wt cotton for machine quilting in 18 colors that we recently added. Eight of the colors are basic color solids, 10 are variegated.

Many quilter prefer INVISIBLE thread when quilting on some projects. We have Maderia Monofil in both Clear and Smoke. We use Monofil when couching our embellishment thread and when bobbin stitching.

GLAMOUR metallic is used in serger loopers or in the bobbin case of your sewing machine.

DÉCOR 6 is an untwisted rayon that is used in serger loopers and is beautiful when used for bobbin stitching in the sewing machine.

PEARL CROWN rayon is a twisted rayon that makes a lovely edging when used in serger loopers and is also used for bobbin stitching in the sewing machine.

We have a large selection of Designer Thread collections that a wonderful for couching on wall hangings, pillows or wearable art or for trim in scrapbooking. Each card contains 5 different coordinating yarns in 10yd. cuts for a variety without a large investment. We have similar collections from other sources-enough to inspire all kinds of projects.
